About the role

Responsible for the strategic planning and development of facilities to support research and office workspace needs. This role involves formulating master plans for space requirements, M&E infrastructure, market analysis, and engaging stakeholders to co-develop financially and environmentally sustainable workspaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term space plans and utilization strategies for A*STAR's entire portfolio, considering research needs and future growth projections.
  • Conduct due diligence on space planning initiatives to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards across various locations.
  • Liaise with consultants and stakeholders on all M&E matters, including design, material selection, shop drawings, and technical problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with facility teams and site stakeholders to understand specific needs, align objectives, and ensure smooth implementation of space plans.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standardized space plans or design guidelines across multiple sites for consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize space, reduce inefficiencies, and improve overall utilization while balancing cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide expert input on engineering decisions related to project costs and budgetary considerations, including evaluating value engineering proposals.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical & electrical engineering or building-related fields.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Singapore’s building regulations and industry standards.
  • Resourceful problem solver with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels and apply strategic thinking creatively.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven, meticulous, and capable of excelling in both independent and collaborative settings.
  • Demonstrates strong project management acumen and analytical thinking.
