About the role
The Computational Digital Pathology Lab at A*STAR's Bioinformatics Institute seeks highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to develop and validate AI‑based solutions for cancer diagnosis using digitized pathology slides. The role involves advanced image processing, computer vision, and mathematical modelling, collaboration with hospitals, and dissemination of findings through papers and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate advanced AI and machine learning models for pathological diagnosis and prognosis of cancer
- Design and implement image processing and computer vision algorithms for biopsy and whole‑slide images
- Create mathematical modelling approaches to support diagnostic workflows
- Collaborate with hospitals and clinical researchers to obtain and interpret data
- Present research findings at internal and external seminars and conferences
- Prepare technical reports and scientific manuscripts for publication
Requirements
- Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, biology or related field
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Matlab, C/C++ or Python
- Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition and digital image processing
- Hands‑on experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar)
- Ability to implement numerical computational algorithms and analytical problem solving
- Excellent scientific and technical writing skills
