About the role
The Director of Data Science & Innovation for CIB leads the strategic development and implementation of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence solutions. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing high-impact data products that drive innovation and operational excellence across the corporate and investment banking division.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term data science vision and innovation roadmap for the Corporate and Investment Banking division
- Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists and engineers in the development of production-grade machine learning models
- Partner with senior executive stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI-driven opportunities for revenue growth and risk mitigation
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data products from initial research and prototyping to full-scale deployment and monitoring
- Drive the adoption of modern data science tools, methodologies, and cloud-native infrastructure across the organization
- Establish and maintain relationships with external technology partners and academic institutions to stay at the forefront of AI research
- Ensure all data science initiatives comply with internal model governance standards and global data privacy regulations
- Manage the budget and resource allocation for large-scale innovation projects and departmental operations
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity leading technical teams
- Demonstrated track record of delivering and scaling machine learning solutions within a financial services or banking environment
- Expert-level proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and advanced SQL
- In-depth knowledge of deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
- Extensive experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and translate technical findings for executive-level audiences
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, econometrics, and quantitative analysis techniques
- Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence strategic decision-making at the highest levels of the firm
