Key Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate mechanical components, enclosures, jigs, and fixtures for diagnostic device prototypes using CAD tools
  • Coordinate with fabrication vendors and internal workshops for 3D printing, CNC machining, and moulding to ensure parts meet specifications and schedule
  • Develop and execute mechanical test protocols including dimensional inspection, fit and assembly validation, environmental stress screening, and durability testing
  • Document test results and generate engineering reports supporting design evaluation and design history file requirements
  • Assist in tolerance analysis, assembly studies, and design‑for‑manufacture reviews during prototype integration
  • Create mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and assembly documentation in collaboration with optical, electrical, and assay teams

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related discipline
  • 0–3 years of relevant hands‑on experience including academic projects, internships, or research lab work
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Fusion 360
  • Familiarity with fabrication methods including 3D printing (FDM, SLA), CNC machining, and injection moulding design considerations
  • Basic understanding of mechanical testing, material selection, and lab safety practices
  • Ability to translate physical test results into actionable engineering insights and clear documentation
