About the role
The Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) in Singapore seeks a senior/lead research engineer to lead R&D and system integration for embodied AI, focusing on building a data engine that automates data collection, processing, augmentation, and supports robotic foundation model development, adaptation, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop a data engine to automate data collection, processing, ingest, discovery, augmentation, and training for robotic foundation models
- Develop tools to ensure high data quality automatically
- Support fast data search and retrieval
- Evaluate and test developed models and robotic solutions
- Integrate solutions into actual robotic systems
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with strong background in robotics, data engineering, and robotics foundation models
- Strong software development skills in C/C++ and Python, with experience using PyTorch
- Good knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System) and Linux
- Experience integrating solutions into actual robotic systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, proactive attitude, ownership mindset, passion for robotics, and resourcefulness
