About the role
The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Division at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, invites applications for a research scientist position. The role involves R&D in Embodied AI, developing novel architectures and models for fast actions and reactions based on Robotic Foundation Model or Multimodal Action model. Responsibilities include research, collaboration, simulation, data collection, testing, system integration into actual robots, and securing future R&D projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Research and development of novel architecture or model for Embodied AI
- Collaborate with other researchers to conduct simulation and actual data collection and testing
- System integration into an actual robot for testing, evaluation, and performance benchmarking
- Work with other stakeholders to secure collaboration and future R&D projects for translation or adoption of developed solutions
Requirements
- PhD in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields
- Strong background and research experience in Embodied AI, Robotics Foundation Model or related research with good publication track record
- Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, PyTorch
- Good knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux and tools relevant to Foundation Model development, training and inference
- Experience in integrating solution in an actual robotics system
- Good communication and collaboration skills, proactive, taking ownership, passionate in robotics, and resourceful
