Description and Requirements

LINUX / UNIX ENGINEER


In this new role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, configuring, maintaining, and support Unix related servers, networks and related applications for WOG agencies. 


Key Responsibilities
•    Server installation, Administration and performance optimization with RedHat 7/8/9.
•    Provides technical assistance and support for applications, hardware problems. Prepare evaluations and reports on system efficiency and utilization 
•    Innovative and talented System Administrator who will be responsible for production up-time, health check-up of physical systems. Provide 24x7 support to critical production systems and team members.
•    Performing root cause analysis of problems. Prepare a plan of action, implement changes, document all work completed
•    Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences.
•    Migration Servers from RHEL 7 and 8 to RHEL 9 
•    Storage addition on RHEL/Solaris and IBM AIX servers 
•    Solaris 10/11 OS administration tasks with zones/LDOMS and ZFS. 
•    Make Sure RHEL and Solaris servers have latest security OS patches.
•    Knowledge on Microsoft Azure, Load Balancers and Firewalls and OS cluster, Virtualization.
•    User administration tasks on RHEL 7/8/9, IBM AIX and Solaris 10/11 servers.
 
Qualifications
•    Experience in RHEL 7,8,9 administration, implementation & Troubleshooting
•    Experienced in Linux clustering & VM level Linux cluster
•    Experience in OS installation, configuration and fine tuning 
•    Experience Linux security, OS hardening, Auditing
•    Experience NFS / DNS / Automount administration and LVM / GFS / Filesystem administration
•    Experience H/W troubleshooting & Vendor coordination
•    Experience in Incident management, Change management, Configuration management
•    Experience in Log monitoring/maintenance
•    Engage in the maintenance and support activities, which include perform troubleshooting, incident response, and patching in a timely manner.
•    Work with end users, architects and team lead in developing and implementing Unix and Linux related configuration changes based on requirements.
•    Evaluate Unix and Linux platforms architecture and make recommendations as required.
•    Coordinate with vendors and support team on problem resolution, implementation issues and upgrades.
•    Good Experience Redhat OS repo creation & Troubleshooting for Patching ( Red hat Satellite management experience preferred )
•    Willing to be on 24 x 7 stand-by for service contract and maintenance services in rotating basis
•    Deep Experience Linux Crash dump analysis, logs analysis
•    Experience in Squid Proxy server, Splunk installation, SMTP server , Apache & Tomcat webserver
•    Good experience in automating with Shell scripting and ansible
•    Basic experience in Public cloud knowledge
