About the role
Junior Scientist role in Discovery Chemistry at the Experimental Drug Development Centre, responsible for designing, synthesizing, and characterizing small organic molecules to support interdisciplinary drug discovery projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out the synthesis of small organic molecules, including synthetic route design, reaction condition optimisation, and purification and characterisation of products
- Analyse experimental results and present findings to the project team
- Maintain accurate experimental records in electronic lab notebook
- Support routine laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, lab safety compliance and general housekeeping
Requirements
- BSc in Chemistry or a Chemistry related field
- Strong foundation in organic and/or medicinal chemistry
- Experience in organic synthesis, chromatographic purification methods and analytical techniques such as NMR, LCMS and HPLC
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Self‑motivated with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
