About the role
Scientist I/II in Chemical Biology at EDDC leading interdisciplinary drug discovery projects, developing chemical biology approaches to uncover disease mechanisms, identify therapeutic targets, and create innovative therapeutics while managing research milestones and collaborating across chemistry, biology, and computational teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage research projects ensuring timely delivery of milestones and high-quality outcomes
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with medicinal chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, structural biologists and computational scientists
- Develop chemical biology approaches to confirm target engagement of small molecules in vitro and in cellular systems
- Design and synthesize chemical probes (preferred)
- Stay up to date with advancements in chemical biology and drug discovery
- Oversee lab equipment upkeep and ensure good housekeeping practices
Requirements
- PhD in Chemical Biology (preferred) or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline with relevant skill sets
- Strong wet‑lab biology skills including mammalian cell culture, cellular assays (Western blot, co‑immunoprecipitation, TURBO‑ID), fluorescence imaging, molecular biology (CRISPR knockout screen), and bioanalytical techniques (ligand binding assays)
- Chemistry lab expertise in design, synthesis, purification, and characterization of chemical compounds or probes (advantageous)
- Experience with Activity‑Based Protein Profiling (ABPP), Affinity‑Based Protein Profiling (AfBP), and chemoproteomics (plus)
- Strong interdisciplinary research interest and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication, scientific writing, presentation, and project management skills
