Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with system suppliers to design and develop HV/MV electrical systems, protection, and SCADA for offshore substations.
  • Perform electrical calculations and system analysis to determine optimal system specifications and ensure performance meets client requirements.
  • Ensure all HV/MV systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.
  • Prepare system documentation, including system architecture diagrams, purchase specifications, functional descriptions, and reports.
  • Conduct inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and support field commissioning to assess compliance and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HV/MV systems, providing support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, vendors, regulatory bodies, and clients, to solve system-related problems and optimize performance.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures to ensure HV/MV system reliability, safety, and long-term performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in high voltage or medium voltage engineering, preferably in an offshore environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software.
  • Relevant certifications in high voltage or medium voltage engineering are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, high voltage systems, offshore operations, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in HV/MV engineering.
  • Capability to lead and mentor junior engineers with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a challenging offshore environment, with strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and adaptability to ever-changing conditions.
