About the role

The Hazardous Area Equipment Register (HAER) Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining the HAER and related certifications, collaborating with completions/PIMS, discipline leads, and site EEHA teams, verifying hazardous area dossiers and equipment schedules, and ensuring compliance with EEHA requirements throughout design, procurement, installation, and certification phases. The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, specific EEHA certifications (CompEx, NEC 500, Ex‑14), and at least six years of offshore oil and gas electrical engineering project experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain the Hazardous Area Equipment Register and associated certifications using vendor documentation and bulk purchase orders
  • Collaborate closely with completions/PIMS personnel, discipline leads, Package Responsible Engineers, and the site EEHA team, reporting to the EEHA Coordinator
  • Verify and compile Hazardous Area Dossiers and maintain the Competency Matrix
  • Review and verify suppliers' schedules of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and Equipment NRTL certificates
  • Monitor and flag detailed inspection status of equipment supplied by vendors, including integrated and shipped loose items
  • Provide ongoing support to the site EEHA team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Recognized EEHA qualifications such as CompEx for NEC (Modules Ex01–Ex04) or equivalent, or at minimum the NEC 500 Foundation Certificate
  • Completed Ex‑14 (Responsible Person) training course with certification
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in offshore oil and gas project management and engineering execution, specifically in electrical engineering
  • Experience in electrical engineering design and execution for oil and gas projects
  • Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
