About the role
This is a direct contract position within the Risk Management Group of DBS Bank focusing on Special Assets. The role involves managing a portfolio of stressed corporate accounts and non-performing loans to maximize recovery through effective restructuring and legal enforcement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of non-performing loans and stressed corporate accounts to minimize credit losses
- Formulate and implement effective restructuring or recovery strategies for distressed borrowers
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and cash flow modeling to evaluate borrower viability and repayment capacity
- Negotiate loan repayment terms, collateral enhancements, and settlement agreements with borrowers and creditors
- Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel to manage litigation and foreclosure proceedings
- Prepare credit memos and regular progress reports for senior management and risk committees
- Perform periodic credit reviews and assessments of asset quality and provisioning levels
- Liaise with relationship managers and credit approvers to ensure alignment on account strategies
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments affecting the distressed asset portfolio
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline
- At least 5 to 8 years of professional experience in credit risk, loan recovery, or distressed debt management
- Strong understanding of banking regulations, insolvency laws, and legal recovery processes
- Advanced proficiency in financial statement analysis and corporate credit assessment
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to handle complex and sensitive stakeholder discussions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing difficult account relationships
- High level of integrity and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage a complex case load simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Professional qualification such as CFA, CPA, or FRM is highly preferred
- Experience working within a large financial institution or corporate risk department
