About the role
As a Customer Engineer II (iTeam - Etch) at Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions for chip and display manufacturing, you will collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment. This role involves using digital analytics for troubleshooting, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems, and coordinating directly with customers to address technical issues and contribute to organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers in installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipment
- Use digital analytics for troubleshooting
- Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address technical issues, with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems
- Coordinate and communicate directly with customers
- Participate in projects/assignments in meeting organization goals
Requirements
- Completion of an Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification
- 1-2 years of work experience in customer/field service support, or a related technical field
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges
- Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
- Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters
