Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in maritime energy, including alternative fuels (e.g., biofuels, ammonia, methanol, biomethane, ethanol, etc.) and electrification pathways for e-fuels.
- Collect, analyse, and model data related to shipping operations, emissions, and energy consumption.
- Prepare progress reports, technical papers, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and securing research funding.
- Drive translational research outcomes, including preparation of Technology Disclosures, intellectual property (IP) filings, and support for technology deployment with industry partners.
Requirements
- Master’s degree with strong academic results in Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field .
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in energy research or hands-on technical work related to shipping, ports, or maritime energy systems.
- Competencies:
- Good understanding of shipping, port operations, energy systems, and greenhouse gas (GHG) management .
- Strong data analysis and modeling skills.
- Proficiency in information visualisation and presentation .
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
- Self-motivated, research-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capable of performing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Effective team player with good problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- A strong publication record and experience in industry R&D projects will be an advantage.
