Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on natural products, functional foods, metabolism, neuroendocrine regulation, neuroinflammation, and gut–brain axis biology.
  • Design and perform in vitro, ex vivo, and/or in vivo experiments, including molecular, cellular, biochemical, histological, and animal studies.
  • Analyse and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot protocols, and maintain accurate research records.
  • Assist in preparing manuscripts, grant applications, progress reports, ethics/IACUC applications, and conference abstracts.
  • Mentor graduate students, undergraduate students, and junior research staff, and support laboratory safety and daily research operations.
  • Present research progress in group meetings, project meetings, seminars, and conferences.

Requirements

  • PhD in neuroscience, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, food science, nutrition, pharmacology, biomedical science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong research experience in neuroendocrinology, metabolism, gut–brain axis, neuroinflammation, natural products, functional foods, or dietary bioactives.
  • Hands-on experience with techniques such as cell culture, qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, immunostaining, microscopy, biochemical assays, and/or animal experiments.
  • , metabolic phenotyping, tissue collection, stereotaxic surgery, transcriptomics, metabolomics, or bioinformatics would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and scientific writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
