Key Responsibilities
- Research Execution: Lead the design and implementation of research projects involving non-equilibrium sintering to ensure the successful delivery of project milestones.
- Process Optimization: Develop and refine multi-step sintering schedules to "freeze in" metastable structures, preventing crystallization and phase separation in highly doped ceramic systems.
- Advanced Characterization: Comprehensive analysis of materials using XRD, SEM/TEM, and optical spectroscopy (UV-Vis-NIR) to validate structural and functional integrity.
- Mentoring: Supervise and train Undergraduate (FYP) and graduate’s research students in laboratory safety, experimental protocols, and data interpretation.
- Service & Dissemination: Produce high-impact manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and represent the University at prestigious international conferences.
- Lab Management: Oversee the maintenance of specialized sintering equipment and coordinate procurement with external suppliers.
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science/Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in advanced sintering techniques (UHS, SPS, or Flash Sintering) and ceramic processing.
- Proficiency in nanoscale characterization (SEM, XRD, TEM/EDX) and optical/mechanical property testing.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage strict timelines, and lead research sub-streams.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Published at least 2 papers in prestigious journals during PhD study, as first author.
- We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
