Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement safety and alignment strategies for Large Language Models (LLM).
- Develop guardrails and safeguard models.
- Analyse failure modes specific to Southeast Asian languages and cultural contexts.
- Identify culturally grounded safety risks and ensure our safety systems generalize robustly beyond English-centric assumptions for Southeast Asia languages and code-mixed text.
Requirements
- Possess a PhD in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or have equivalent practical experience.
- 5 to 7 years of related experience that includes safety alignment in LLMs, model evaluation for safety or robustness, and a track record of top-tier publications (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, ICLR) in the safety research area.
- Strong knowledge of Python and NLP concepts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English and one other Southeast Asian language for the purposes of understanding how to build quality safety training and evaluation data from a multilingual and multicultural perspective.
