Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new CFD solutions in partnership with our academic and technology partners;
  • Providing CFD technical leadership to new research programs;
  • Work closely with other team members to develop OpenFOAM methods, processes and workflows;
  • Develop and implement mesh, solver and post-processing methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our CFD tools and workflow;
  • Support and optimise CFD tools including monitoring and resolving issues;
  • Ensure that CFD simulations and analysis carried out within the department are aligned with the capability of the commercial tools;
  • Conduct research into and analysis the energy usage of different scenarios;
  • Write reports and mapping the total energy usage;
  • Publish papers and support documentation.

Requirements

  • Preferably Master in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Physics from a recognized university;
  • Strong organisational and project skills;
  • Excellent team player and able to work effectively with other groups;
  • Practical experience in OpenFOAM development and/or in C++ language development in a CFD environment;
  • Good understanding of commercial CFD solvers (Fluent, 6Sigma, STAR-CCM+, etc.)
  • SketchUp, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, TRNSYS, and Python;
  • Proven ability to work at a fast pace and to react rapidly to new information;
  • F1 experience would be advantageous but not essential;
  • Python, C++, and Unix shell scripting would be advantageous.
