Key Responsibilities
- Develop new CFD solutions in partnership with our academic and technology partners;
- Providing CFD technical leadership to new research programs;
- Work closely with other team members to develop OpenFOAM methods, processes and workflows;
- Develop and implement mesh, solver and post-processing methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our CFD tools and workflow;
- Support and optimise CFD tools including monitoring and resolving issues;
- Ensure that CFD simulations and analysis carried out within the department are aligned with the capability of the commercial tools;
- Conduct research into and analysis the energy usage of different scenarios;
- Write reports and mapping the total energy usage;
- Publish papers and support documentation.
Requirements
- Preferably Master in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Physics from a recognized university;
- Strong organisational and project skills;
- Excellent team player and able to work effectively with other groups;
- Practical experience in OpenFOAM development and/or in C++ language development in a CFD environment;
- Good understanding of commercial CFD solvers (Fluent, 6Sigma, STAR-CCM+, etc.)
- SketchUp, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, TRNSYS, and Python;
- Proven ability to work at a fast pace and to react rapidly to new information;
- F1 experience would be advantageous but not essential;
- Python, C++, and Unix shell scripting would be advantageous.
