Key Responsibilities

  • Manage system-level validation of enterprise SSDs across server platforms, including functional, stress, endurance, power cycle, and compliance testing Define and lead validation strategies, coverage, and risk assessment for assigned features, platforms, or customer programs Lead detailed debugging and root-cause analysis involving SSD firmware behavior, PCIe/NVMe protocol, host platform, BIOS, drivers, and OS Direct comprehensive issue resolution through collaboration among firmware, platform engineering, product development, and customer teams Support and lead customer Joint Qualification (JQ) activities, including reproduction, triage, data analysis, and cross-site coordination Examine logs, traces, and dumps from firmware, OS, PCIe/NVMe protocol layers, and validation tools to identify underlying problems Develop and improve Python-based validation frameworks, automation, and log analysis tools to improve efficiency and scalability Lead efforts to maintain validation coverage quality, continuously spotting gaps, risks, and chances for improvement Lead or contribute to technical initiatives such as validation methodology improvements, debug frameworks, and tooling enhancements Actively guide less experienced engineers and contribute to team capability development and technical excellence Influence validation guidelines and cross-team alignment, helping build validation approaches across programs and platforms Required Experience / Skills 3–5+ years of professional experience in SSD validation, storage system validation, or a closely related field, with demonstrated ownership of system-level validation scope Strong hands-on experience in the storage industry, including SSDs, storage systems, or enterprise server platforms Solid understanding of PCIe and NVMe architecture and protocols
  • Familiarity with SATA is advantageous Experience with server platforms and system architecture, including system bring-up, configuration, and troubleshooting Strong debugging capability across hardware, firmware behavior, OS, and platform interactions Experience using Python for validation automation, tooling, and data/log analysis Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Understanding of NAND flash and non-volatile memory concepts Demonstrated capability to operate autonomously, advance initiatives, and achieve outcomes in challenging settings Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams Comfortable working under multiple priorities and time-sensitive customer blocking issues About Micron Technology, Inc.

Requirements

  • Work closely with global, cross-functional teams and serve as a technical leader within the validation group, guiding engineers with less experience and leading impactful projects.

  • Required Experience / Skills
  • 3–5+ years of professional experience in SSD validation, storage system validation, or a closely related field, with demonstrated ownership of system-level validation scope
  • Strong hands-on experience in the storage industry, including SSDs, storage systems, or enterprise server platforms
  • Solid understanding of PCIe and NVMe architecture and protocols; familiarity with SATA is advantageous
