Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in end-to-end build and evolution of enterprise-scale GWB data platforms, including datamarts and analytics layers, collaborating with Technology and delivery partners; contribute to data modelling standards, transformation logic, and reusable engineering patterns for scalability and consistency.
  • Work closely with Data Analysts/Scientists, Business stakeholders, Technology and Data Governance teams to enable governed self-service analytics; support advanced analytics initiatives (e.g., risk assurance, early warning, monetisation, GenAI-enabled analytics) by ensuring reliable data foundations; provide technical input to analytics leadership on feasibility and sequencing.
  • Ensure data engineering deliverables adhere to data access controls, country restrictions, governance approvals, and regulatory requirements, especially for cross-border data use; support internal audits, model validation, and regulatory reviews with documentation and traceability.
  • Contribute to raising engineering standards through reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring; review designs, code, and delivery approaches to promote platform-level thinking.

Requirements

  • 8-12+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or analytics engineering roles, preferably in banking or large regulated environments.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale data platform or datamart implementations (EDW, Datamarts, Data Lakes) from requirements through UAT and production.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT frameworks, and performance optimisation concepts.
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder delivery environments with Technology, Business, and Analytics teams.
  • Strongly preferred: exposure to Wholesale Banking, Credit, Trade, Liquidity, Risk or Finance data domains; self-service BI ecosystems, layered data architectures, and governed analytics platforms; familiarity with data governance, audit, and regulatory data controls; prior technical lead or workstream lead experience.
