About the role
Senior Materials Scientist/Engineer (Construction Materials) to join the Advanced Materials Technology Centre. Focus on applied R&D for sustainable and functional cementitious materials, including FCC ash upcycling, 3D printable cement, and foamed cement composites.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead innovation projects in functional cementitious materials.
- Oversee end-to-end material development and validation.
- Provide technical consultation and R&D support to built environment enterprises.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and capability development.
- Mentor interns and supervise student R&D projects.
- Collaborate with academic researchers and industry partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in cementitious materials or construction materials.
- Solid understanding of cement composite formulation and material characterisation.
- Experience in experimental design and laboratory testing.
- Familiarity with rheology, 3D concrete printing, or foamed cement composites advantageous.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
