Job Description

Business Function Global Transaction Services (GTS) is a product division within DBS' Institutional Banking Group (IBG). GTS is focused on the development and deployment of Cash Management (including collections, payments, liquidity management and transactional FX solutions), Documentary and Open Account Trade Finance, and Securities & Fiduciary products to the Bank's IBG client base. GTS aspires to be recognized by clients and competitors as one of the top providers in DBS' key markets, gaining market share through an ongoing process of efficiently matching clients' changing business requirements with established and emerging product capabilities, and seamlessly onboarding clients onto these services. In GTS Securities & Fiduciary Services, Client Management & Implementation, you will be part of a team that provides sales and services to financial institutions, corporations, and SME customers. Role Overview: We are seeking a results-driven Trade Product Manager to drive the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of Documentary Trade products, covering Letter of Credit (Import and Export) and Trade Loan within our trade finance portfolio. This role focuses on aligning products with client needs, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance, while fostering product innovation and revenue growth. Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy & Development: Develop and execute strategies for Documentary Trade products and structured trade solutions, identifying market opportunities and designing scalable solutions. Develop and implement strategic product initiatives/solutions to drive revenue growth of the Documentary Trade business. Product Management: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, monitor performance (profitability, utilization, risk), and optimize pricing strategies. Conduct business management, commercialization, and P&L management of Documentary Trade Finance products. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Risk, Credit, Legal, Operations, Sales, Technology) and external partners to support product delivery and client engagement. Lead engagement with in-country teams and Sales to identify revenue growth opportunities/trends to ensure successful commercialization of Documentary Trade product suites. Risk & Compliance: Ensure product compliance with regulations and internal risk policies, working with credit and risk teams on transaction structuring and portfolio monitoring. Proactively manage product risks to maintain a healthy portfolio. Commercialization: Drive product adoption and revenue growth across target client segments, supporting sales teams and gathering client feedback. Digital Innovation: Improve operational efficiency through process optimization and digital solutions, collaborating with technology teams on platform enhancements and automation. Identify and implement opportunities to drive Digital Trade innovation to enhance product proposition, so as to drive revenue growth, improve efficiency and deliver superior customer experience. New Product Initiatives: Support the rollout of new Trade products and initiatives, including market research, NPA drafting, legal documentation, and tech specifications. Knowledge Sharing & Harmonization: Propagate knowledge and expertise across sales and product teams across locations to strengthen Documentary Trade Finance. Conduct training for functional stakeholders (i.e., Finance, Legal and Operations) on all relevant aspects of the product. Drive harmonization and streamlining of policies and processes regionally. Required Skills & Expertise: Technical Acumen: Proficiency in Documentary Trade Finance products and awareness of the Trade finance industry and trends. Risk & Financial Acumen: Solid understanding in risk concepts, legal documentation, operations, systems. Familiarity with trade finance regulations, compliance standards (AML, KYC), fraud risk considerations, including related industry best practices Product Management: Proven experience in product development and lifecycle management within banking or financial services, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to conceptualize and execute strategic product initiatives independently. Stakeholder & Communication: Ability to influence, collaborate, and present effectively across functions, with experience supporting sales and deal origination. Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Qualifications: Minimum of a strong Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline. 6-8 years of experience in trade finance, transaction banking, or structured trade solutions. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Trade Product management experience, specialising on Documentary Trade products is preferred. Familiarity in digital and data analytics will be an added advantage. Familiarity with digital trade platforms or fintech solutions is a plus.
