About the role

The Technical Program Manager for AWS Data Center Planning & Delivery leads the development of global infrastructure initiatives from conceptual design to full-scale deployment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in engineering or software development and advanced program management skills to oversee complex cross-functional projects and capital budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional and technical teams to drive projects from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Interact with internal and external customers, partners and suppliers to understand joint business goals and priorities
  • Manage remote project delivery teams and facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues
  • Create cross-functional matrix-based teams and establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones
  • Manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery
  • Design solutions, remove blockers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality functionality for global new region infrastructure growth
  • Exhibit core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management
  • Perform reporting and metric development or tracking for all phases of the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or additional technical experience is required
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Competency in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint
  • Ability to travel 30% domestically and internationally to support new region projects
  • Strong judgment, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence without authority in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience preferred
  • Background in architecture/design, mechanical/electrical engineering, software/network engineering, data center infrastructure/operations, or construction preferred
  • Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration is a plus
