About the role
Staff Engineer responsible for developing HAMR sputter process for new product qualification, improving media ADC and mechanical performance. Requires Master/PhD in Material Science or related, with knowledge in thin film sputter, magnetic recording, and DOE.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop HAMR sputter process to improve media ADC and mechanical performance to meet new product timeline
- Design of experiment to understand the process window/margin
- Work with cross functional team on new alloys/process related defect issues
- Transfer new product process into mass production and continue improve process to meet customer requirement
- Technical lead of sputter projects
Requirements
- Master or Ph.D degree in Material science, magnetic recording physics or related engineering disciplines
- Knowledge and skills in Material science, HAMR knowledge, thin film sputter process
- R&D in magnetic recording media process, including process DOE, magnetic characterization tools, and data analysis techniques
- Proficient in English speaking and writing
