Key Roles & Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Set solar growth strategy (rooftop, floating, ground-mounted).
- Own the project pipeline and capacity plan.
- Steer priorities based on market and regulatory shifts.
- Be accountable for delivery against the renewables and decarbonisation targets for Gas & Related Services’ business
Commercial & Business Development
- Lead origination across C&I, utility and public sector.
- Own strategic relationships (customers, regulators, financiers, EPCs).
- Set deal terms and approve commercial structures (e.g., PPAs).
- Direct tender, pricing and contract decisions.
Project Development & Execution
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery governance (feasibility to commissioning).
- Hold teams accountable for time, cost, quality and HSSE outcomes.
- Own project risk governance (land, permits, grid, delivery, financing).
Operations & Asset Management
- Accountable for portfolio performance (generation, uptime, cost).
- Drive O&M strategy, reliability and monitoring.
- Set KPI governance for HSSE and performance.
- Ensure and enforce regulatory, environmental and HSSE compliance.
Financial & P&L Accountability
- Accountable for P&L performance.
- Drive cost and value optimisation across the portfolio.
- Approve investment cases and key assumptions.
- Own budget governance (CAPEX/OPEX) and financial controls.
People Leadership & Organisation Development
- Provide senior leadership to cross-functional teams.
- Build organisation capability across development, delivery and O&M.
- Set performance and safety standards; drive a high-performance culture.
Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Engagement
- Own governance and compliance across the business.
- Lead engagement with authorities on permits and grid integration.
- Set risk appetite and mitigation plans (commercial/technical/regulatory).
- Represent Sembcorp in external forums and key engagements.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business or a related field (MBA or equivalent is an advantage).
- 12–15 years of experience in renewable energy (solar/IPP/power sector).
- Solar project development and/or IPP business management
- Managing a multi-project portfolio from development to operations
- Commercial structuring, negotiations and stakeholder management
- Solar PV technologies and the EPC lifecycle
- Energy market structures in Singapore and Southeast Asia
- Regulatory requirements and grid connection considerations
