Key Responsibilities
- Strategize regional compliance efforts for AWS's global physical infrastructure
- Provide tactical advice on environmental compliance issues across Asia Pacific
- Monitor and advise the business of upcoming environmental regulatory changes
- Develop and improve compliance policies and programs
- Work cross-functionally with other data center teams to develop new infrastructure
- Negotiate commercial transactions with environmental vendors
- Handle legal disputes and inquiries from regulators
- Counsel Amazon's data center business and compliance teams on a range of environmental, regulatory, and infrastructure development matters
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Enthusiastic and pragmatic approach to work
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
