Key Responsibilities
- Lead critical customer engagements including cloud adoption and migration programs, and complex technical challenges with high-stakes outcomes
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to startup founders and senior business and technical leaders, operating at a strategic level and creating opportunities for your team to act as trusted advisors
- Apply deep technical understanding across multiple domains to invent, evolve, and simplify solutions that drive customer success
- Coach and develop experienced Solutions Architects to elevate their technical capabilities and strategic advisory abilities
- Build a high-performing team through effective hiring, onboarding, and continuous skill development
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession
- Maintain a high bar for operational excellence; define and maintain appropriate cadences for inspecting the business in your area
- Champion your area's customer needs with senior leaders within AWS
- Bridge customer needs with AWS product teams, ensuring customer feedback drives product improvements
- Partner with senior leaders within AWS sales, investor management, specialist, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and clear obstacles to customer success
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles
- 2+ years of architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc. experience
- 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience
- 10+ years of experience architecting, building, or operating cloud-based applications or infrastructures
- 5+ years of experience managing complex organizations: either multi-layered or cross-functional or geographically distributed (ideally at least two out of three)
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive)
- Experience in the startup community as either a founder, mentor, investor, or early technical employee
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with startup business and technology leaders, developer community, and press
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
