About the role
Senior Controls Design Engineer responsible for leading controls design across AWS data centers in APAC. The role involves end-to-end project lifecycle management from concept through commissioning, developing global standards, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring reliability in mission-critical environments. Requires 6+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical facility engineering with strong controls and mechanical/electrical systems expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Have deep knowledge of building operations, mechanical plant strategies, EPMS/BMS programming concepts, control diagrams, industrial HVAC, electrical line-ups, one line diagrams, and complex environmental and electrical concepts
- Data center redundancy, mechanical failure strategies, energy and water conservation best-case practices and data reporting analytics
- Knowledge of how to successfully operate in high security critical environments while maximizing productivity
- Innovation of new solutions to support initiative, team, and company goals
- Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams including construction, programmers, MEP/ACS engineers, and team managers as necessary to accomplish initiative goals
- Ability to lead external consultant to deliver project specifications to AWS standards and challenge them technically
- Create, maintain, and disseminate specification documents that pertain to global projects
- Create, maintain, and disseminate project specific scope of work (SOW) documents including global design standards
- Vendor selection, bid review, approval of equipment submittals, RFI support and coordination
- Central point of contact for multiple internal and external groups regarding EPMS/BMS controls standards
Requirements
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
